Bengaluru: BBMP special commissioner D Randeep has served notices to 46 hospitals in the city for declining to provide beds for patients. These patients were allocated beds by the BBMP through a centralized bed allotment system.

According to sources, these notices were issued after city police shared information about the complaints they received of denial of beds.

According to the sources, the private hospitals are declining to honor their understanding with the BBMP and the state government on treating the COVID 19 patients. The BBMP and the state government had directed these hospitals to reserve 50% of their beds for the patients referred by them. However, hospitals are not honoring this direction.
