Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike (BBMP) on Friday, April 10, decided to completely seal two wards under its jurisdiction after five new cases of the coronavirus were reported in the city.
Informing about the same, BBMP Commissioner B H Anil Kumar said that Bapuji Nagar ward-134 and Padarayanapura ward -135 will be completely sealed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
He added that vehicular movement will be banned and that “the BBMP is planning to supply all essentials to residents”.
Meanwhile, the BBMP Commissioner also addressed the false reports that other areas will also be sealed off. “Dear citizens, I appeal to all of you not to panic & go out to buy essentials. Seal down orders are only in Ward 134 Bapuji Nagar & Ward 135 Padarayanapura due to fresh cases & to contain spread of #Covid19. Urge TV news channels to report facts & not speculate,[sic]” he tweeted on Friday afternoon.

On April 10, Karnataka reported 10 new COVID-19 cases, nine of whom are close contacts of previous COVID-19 cases. The total of COVID-19 cases in the state currently stands at 207, including six deaths and 30 discharges.
