Bengaluru: The BBMP has decided to demolish 100 illegal structures, which are causing flood in the South Bengaluru region.
A decision in this regard is taken by BBMP commissioner N Manjunath Prasad.
It can be recalled that for the last few days South Bengaluru is witnessing an unprecedented flood due to the heavy rainfall.
Following findings that flood is caused due to storm drainage encroachment, it has been decided to bring down all the illegal structures.
Interestingly, many of these structures were damaged by the recent flood and few building owners even received compensation cheque of Rs.25,000 given by the state govvernment.
The state government and the BBMP is under fire for failing to stop encroachment in the South Bengaluru region.
