Bengaluru: 2023-24 Budget, 50L farmers will be benefited

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has begun presenting the Budget at Vidhana Soudha. The economic recovery in the State has been rapid after Covid. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is on the path of progress, he said.

He said that the G-20 Summit was held under the leadership of the Prime Minister and it was conducive to the progress of the State. He also announced that farmers will be given loans up to Rs. 5 Lakh at zero interest. Earlier, the amount was limited to Rs. 3 Lakh, he said.

“Rs. 10 Crore has been allocated for Agricultural Research Centre at Theerthahalli. Special facilities for homeless fishermen and installation of motor engines for fishing boats will be taken up,” he said.

“Rs. 10,000 Crore allocated for Bengaluru. Steps will be taken to provide free bus passes to school and college students. The grant has been announced for a park at Byndoor for export of fish products, housing scheme for economically weaker sections, subsidy to weavers, Rs. 10,000 Crore for Bengaluru development and Rs. 100 Crore for Bellary Mega Dairy,” he said.

He has announced the construction of a grand Ram Temple in Ramanagara. Rs. 60 Lakh will be given to each gram panchayat. The Bhusiri Scheme has been launched which will benefit 50 lakh farmers, he said.
