Bengaluru: The State Government should call an all-party conference and make a definitive decision regarding the 2A reservation for Lingayat Panchamasali by October 21 at Hukkeri, said Panchamasali Matha Basava Mrutyunjaya Swamiji of the Panchamasali Matha has threatened to order a blockade of the Vidhana Soudha at the Hukkeri Sammelana.
Speaking to mediapersons on Thursday October 13 he said that the State’s Panchamasali Lingayat group has been fighting for 2A reservation for two years. However, no decisions have been made by the Government as yet.
In all 31 Lingayat subgroups have already received 2A reservations from the Government. We demand that the Government provide the same for us,” he stressed.
The Hukkeri Sammelana is projected to draw about 1 lakh attendees. He issued a warning that 25 lakh Panchamasali Lingayats will join the demonstration in front of the Vidhana Soudha if the Government did not act on this.
