Bengaluru: A group of about 15 men brutally attacked two security guards before taking three tonnes of iron rods from a construction site here.

According to a complaint filed by Site Engineer Karthik N., the robbery was reported from Attur Layout in Yelahanka. The construction company’s site is near Kashi Vishwanatha Temple and Attur Lake on the main Attur-Ananthapura road.

The gang arrived in a truck and a goods vehicle. They barged into the site with weapons and threatened the guards. The gang snatched their mobile phones and turned them off. The guards were then locked in a room. The gang then took the iron rods, worth around Rs. 2 lakh, and drove off in the same vehicles. Before leaving, they returned the guards’ phones.

“A case has been filed at the Yelahanka New Town Police Station and we are searching for the suspects,” informed Anoop A. Shetty, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast).
