Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) has concluded its most successful mango export season, dispatching 921 metric tonnes (MT) of the fruit to 51 global destinations — a 12% rise from last year’s 822 MT. The record volume equates to nearly 31.5 lakh mangoes exported in FY 2025, sourced mainly from Karnataka’s prime mango-growing regions and nearby states.

This year, Bengaluru airport expanded its reach significantly, adding 19 new international destinations — a 21% increase in market coverage. A total of 24 airlines carried the consignments, with the United States emerging as a key market. The top five destinations included Dulles (IAD), Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW), San Francisco (SFO), Chicago (ORD), and Seattle (SEA).

Satyaki Raghunath, chief operating officer of Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL), attributed the milestone to strong collaboration among various partners. “At KIA, we take pride in being a trusted bridge between our farmers and consumers worldwide. This achievement reflects coordinated efforts between regulatory agencies, airline operators, cargo handlers, trade councils, trade bodies, and farming communities,” he said.
