Travellers departing from Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (KIA) can now experience faster security checks as Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) has launched a pilot programme introducing slot-based security screening at Terminal 1.
The initiative, named PreSecure, allows passengers to reserve a preferred time slot for security screening before arriving at the airport, helping streamline the departure process and reduce waiting times.
Dedicated security lane for booked passengers
Under the new system, passengers who pre-book a screening slot are directed to a dedicated security checkpoint, enabling them to bypass regular queues during their selected time window.
Airport officials believe the service will improve passenger convenience and help manage peak-hour congestion more efficiently.
Currently, the facility is being offered free of charge as part of the pilot phase. However, sources indicate that BIAL plans to introduce a fee once the service is fully implemented.
