Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) has imposed a ban on heavy goods vehicles and private buses on Ballari Road from February 10 to 14 due to the Aero India show. This move aims to ease congestion during the high-profile event.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) M N Anucheth, during a press briefing on Friday, mentioned that truck unions have been informed about alternative routes. He advised travelers heading to the airport to be aware of potential delays and traffic jams on Ballari Road during these dates and plan their journey accordingly.
To accommodate visitors, free public parking has been arranged at the GKVK campus in Jakkur, with BMTC providing free AC shuttle buses to the aero show viewing area. Paid parking options are available for pass holders at the Aero Display Viewing Area (ADVA) parking lot near Gates 8 and 9. Visitors can access the area via Yelahanka, Rajanukunte, and Gantiganahalli, instead of using the airport road flyover, which would take a longer, circuitous route.
For those attending the event with passes for Gate 5, domestic parking will be accessible via the airport road flyover, with a U-turn at Hunasamaranahalli. Additionally, two one-way roads—Nitte Meenakshi College Road and Bagalur Main Road—will be in operation during this period, with alternative routes to the airport provided.
Authorities have also informed mapping services and mobility apps about the changes.
