Bengaluru: Another MLA quits BJP, joins Congress

Bengaluru: Another BJP MLA quit party. N. Yallappa Gopalakrishna, MLA from Kudligi in Ballari District has quit the party. He will join the Congress.

According to sources, Gopalakrishna met Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President D. K. Shivakumar on the night of Monday March 27 at the time of Party Screening Committee Meeting.

After a discussion with Congress Leaders, he announced quitting BJP. Meanwhile, Gubbi MLA Srinivas also tendered his resignation to JDS. He is also joining Congress. He is a powerful leader from Tumakuru District.

According to the sources, four more MLAs are likely to quit BJP and join Congress. These developments would come as a shocker for BJP in the State.
