The initiative allows passengers to feel more secure during their rides, as the camera captures real-time footage of the journey, both inside and outside the vehicle.

“I want my customers to know they are in safe hands,” Gowda explained. “The dashcam records everything, which can be crucial in case of any incidents.” Gowda has also equipped his vehicle with rain-resistant curtains and keeps it meticulously clean, further elevating the passenger experience.

A video shared by the Twitter account “Nagara Metered Auto” showcases a dashcam recording of a conversation between Gowda and a passenger who commended the auto’s condition and appreciated the use of the meter for fare calculation. Since being posted, the video has amassed over 39,000 views and 500 likes on the platform.

Gowda, who has been driving since 1996, expressed that he has never overcharged a customer, maintaining that “good service naturally leads to customer satisfaction and fair tips.” This level of honesty has resonated with people on social media, where a previous video of Gowda discussing his customer-first approach also went viral.

This incident follows another viral post about a Bengaluru auto driver, who became an internet sensation for his tech-forward approach, sporting a smartwatch and offering QR code-based digital payments. The post received nearly half a million views, highlighting the city’s reputation for embracing innovation in everyday interactions.
