Relief has finally arrived for thousands of auto-rickshaw drivers in Bengaluru as Auto LPG supply has returned to normal, ending the long waiting lines seen in recent days across the city.
Most filling stations are now operating smoothly, with drivers able to refill fuel without delays. Areas that earlier witnessed heavy congestion are seeing a marked improvement in movement and supply.
Long queues disappear
One of the busiest pressure points, the Magadi Road toll gate stretch, has reported a sharp fall in waiting queues. Fuel stations are said to be receiving regular daily stock, helping restore normalcy.
Auto drivers expressed happiness that valuable working hours are no longer being lost while waiting for fuel.
“Earlier, we waited the whole day. Now we can fill quickly,” said a driver.
New concern over rising prices
While supply issues have eased, many drivers are now upset over fluctuating rates charged at different stations.
Auto LPG prices reportedly range between ₹90 and ₹130 per litre, depending on the outlet. The wide price gap has forced drivers to travel across areas searching for cheaper stations.
Many said they are now choosing pumps based not only on availability but also affordability.
“We are filling wherever gas is available at the lowest price,” drivers said.
Relief mixed with uncertainty
For Bengaluru’s auto community, the return of steady supply is a major relief. However, rising operational costs remain a concern, especially for drivers dependent on daily earnings.
Any increase in fuel expenses directly affects their income and adds pressure to fares and household budgets.
Drivers are now hoping for stable pricing along with uninterrupted supply in the coming days.
