The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has directed the closure of meat shops and non-vegetarian eateries from January 23 to February 17, 2025. This temporary restriction is part of preparations for the Aero India 2025 show, slated to take place at the Yelahanka Air Force Station from February 10 to 14.

As per the public notice, selling or serving non-vegetarian food within a 13-km radius of the station will be prohibited. Officials stated that discarded non-veg waste attracts scavenging birds like kites, posing risks to aircraft during flight operations.

The BBMP emphasized that violations of this directive will invite penalties under the BBMP Act-2020 and Rule 91 of the Indian Aircraft Rules, 1937. This precaution aims to prevent potential hazards during the air show.

The 15th edition of Aero India will feature high-profile events, including a Defence Ministers’ Conclave, a roundtable of CEOs, and a comprehensive exhibition showcasing India Pavilion and global aerospace companies.

Aero India has earned global recognition as a top-tier aerospace event. Since its debut in 1996, the biennial show has served as a platform for industry leaders to network, display innovations, and shape the future of the defence and aerospace sectors.

This initiative reflects Bengaluru’s commitment to ensuring safety while hosting an event that attracts major players in the field from across the globe.
