In response to recent rains in Bengaluru, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has intensified efforts to control dengue across the city. To mitigate the spread of the disease, BBMP has initiated mosquito control awareness campaigns and drug spraying in all wards.

As part of National Dengue Day, an awareness campaign was held in Ramaswamy Palya in Bengaluru East Zone on Thursday. During the event, BBMP Commissioner Suralkar Vikas Kishore highlighted crucial precautionary measures for the public to follow.

With the onset of rains, water accumulation provides breeding grounds for mosquitoes, necessitating preventive actions such as fogging and spraying. Commissioner Kishore emphasized the importance of eliminating stagnant water in common mosquito breeding sites, including flower pots, discarded tires, water tanks, and bottles. He also stressed the need to prevent the accumulation of sewage in these areas.

The BBMP’s proactive measures aim to reduce the incidence of dengue and protect public health during the rainy season.
