Bengaluru: In a big setback for Former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa, BJP sidelined him while picking up candidates for the assembly election.

According to the sources, on Monday April 10, BJP had finalised a list of 180 candidates. A majority of candidates were approved by BSY. However, now party national leaders decided to revise it in the absence of Yediyurappa who returned to Bengaluru with the confidence that it may not be changed.

“He is totally sidelined. Gujarat model will be followed in Karnataka also. Tickets will be declined to around 30 candidates,” explained a BJP leader.

“List will be finalised in the absence of Former CM BSY. It is sending a clear signal to his supporters,” he explained.
