Bengaluru: “State has already announced its clear stand on the border dispute with Maharashtra,” said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking to mediapersons in Vidhana Soudha here on Thursday December 8 he said that all the necessary steps are taken with regard to the border row as well as protecting life and property of Kannadigas living in the neighbouring Maharashtra. “We have already spoken with DGP and Chief Secretary of State of Maharashtra. Here also, the necessary security arrangements are made. I have spoken with our party National President J. P. Nadda and have made the stand of State clear on the border row. I have already spoken to my Maharashtra counterpart and resolved to protect cordiality on both sides. You maintain peace and tranquility on your side and we will take care of it here. But there must be no provocation from any side.”

CM Bommai clarified that no one including Union Home Minister Amit Shah has spoken to him regarding events in connection with the border dispute.
