Bengaluru is set for major traffic changes on Sunday as the TCS World 10K Bengaluru takes place with more than 30,000 participants expected.
The Bengaluru Traffic Police has announced road closures, diversions and no-parking zones from 5 am to 11 am.
The marathon will start and finish at RSAOI Ground.
Major roads closed
Vehicle movement will be fully restricted on several stretches including:
- Cubbon Road between CTO Junction and Manipal Centre
- Access roads towards Vidhana Soudha
- Kamaraj Road
- Portions of Infantry Road
- Lady Curzon Road
- St John’s Road
Diversions announced
Traffic heading towards Majestic and City Market from Queens Road will be diverted through Cunningham Road and Chalukya Circle.
Commuters travelling east from MG Road towards Halasuru are advised to use Trinity Junction and Swami Vivekananda Road.
Heavy vehicles entering the CBD are restricted and should divert through NGEF Junction and Old Airport Road.
Parking restrictions
No-parking zones include:
- Kasturba Road
- St Mark’s Road
- Areas surrounding Cubbon Park
Paid parking is available at UB City, Shivajinagar Bus Stand and Church Street areas.
Metro starts early
BMRCL announced that Namma Metro services began early at 3.30 am to help participants and spectators.
