A dog enthusiast from Bengaluru, S. Satish, has made waves in the exotic pet industry by acquiring an extraordinary hybrid – a wolfdog, valued at an astonishing Rs 50 crore. This one-of-a-kind cross between a wild wolf and a Caucasian Shepherd was imported from the United States at just eight months old. Named Cadaboms Okami, the massive canine already weighs over 75 kg and devours 3 kg of raw meat daily.
Renowned for their strength and protective instincts, Caucasian Shepherds are widely sought after for security. However, Okami’s wolf-like attributes set him apart, making him a truly unique specimen. As the president of the Indian Dog Breeders Association, Satish aims to popularize this rare breed in India, and his prized wolfdog has quickly gained celebrity status, stealing the spotlight at elite gatherings in Karnataka.
Though he stepped away from breeding a decade ago, Satish has found a lucrative niche in showcasing his exceptional pets. His rare wolfdog fetches Rs 25,000 for a 30-minute appearance, attracting crowds eager to snap selfies and witness the majestic hybrid up close. “People adore these rare breeds; they get more attention than Hollywood stars,” he shares.
Okami and other prized canines enjoy a luxurious lifestyle on Satish’s vast seven-acre estate, complete with spacious quarters and dedicated caretakers. The growing fascination with exotic hybrids has fueled discussions about rare breeds and their rising demand in India.
