Bengaluru Celebrates World Blood Donor Day With Appreciation For Donors

BENGALURU: On June 14, the World Health Organization (WHO) marks World Blood Donor Day under the theme “20 years of celebrating giving: thank you blood donors”. However, India’s pioneering efforts in voluntary blood donation date back to 1954, spearheaded by Leela Moolgaokar, a Padma Shri recipient recognized for her exemplary contributions.
