Suchana Seth, the founder and CEO of Bengaluru-based AI startup Mindful AI Lab, who was arrested in January 2024 for the alleged murder of her 4-year-old son in a Goa hotel, is back in the headlines. This time, she has been charged for attacking a woman constable inside Goa’s Central Jail, where she has been in custody since her arrest.

According to jail authorities, the incident unfolded when Seth allegedly took the inward register of the women’s block without authorization. Upon being confronted, she reportedly hurled verbal abuse, kicked the officer, pulled her hair, and inflicted physical injuries.

Seth has now been charged under Sections 121(1) and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita — pertaining to assault on a public servant and intentional insult meant to provoke.

Seth was first apprehended in Karnataka’s Chitradurga on January 8, while en route to Bengaluru in a taxi. Shockingly, her son’s lifeless body was discovered in a suitcase she was carrying. Prior to her arrest, she had checked into a serviced apartment in Candolim, Goa. After she left, staff noticed blood stains in the room and reported it to police.

Initial claims by Seth included misleading statements about her son’s whereabouts and the source of the blood. Investigations revealed a note in her bag suggesting she was mentally distressed over an ongoing custody dispute with her estranged husband.

She was previously booked under IPC Sections 302 (murder), 201 (tampering with evidence), and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act.
