The Kamakshipalya police station is expected to file a charge sheet in the Chitradurga Renukaswamy murder case within the next two days, according to sources. The investigation is nearing completion, and the police have prepared a 4,500-page charge sheet, including statements from over 240 witnesses.

Renukaswamy was murdered on June 9 in a shed in Pattanagere. Seventeen individuals, including actor Darshan and his friend Pavitra Gowda, were arrested on murder charges. The police have gathered substantial evidence, which has been sent to Forensic Science Laboratories in Hyderabad and Bengaluru for analysis.

Actor Darshan, who is currently held in Bellary Central Jail, has not yet applied for bail. His bail application is expected to be filed after the charge sheet is submitted. Pavitra Gowda’s bail plea was previously dismissed by the 57th City Civil Court.

CCB Joint Commissioner of Police Chandragupta has been tasked with investigating allegations of special treatment provided to Darshan in Parappana Agrahara Central Jail. Three cases have been registered in this regard, leading to the suspension of nine prison guards. Chandragupta will also probe claims that Darshan was engaged in a video call, smoking, and interacting with rowdy elements while in jail.
