Bengaluru: In a heartbreaking incident in Bengaluru’s Thigalarapalya, a 24-year-old woman, Chandrika, allegedly poisoned her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter and then tried to take her own life. Police say the incident occurred early Wednesday when her husband Lokesh, a daily wage labourer, was away from home.
On returning, Lokesh found both unconscious and rushed them to a nearby hospital. Doctors confirmed that the child was brought dead, while Chandrika is undergoing treatment. Investigators suspect financial stress and domestic disputes to be the motive. A case of murder has been filed.
