Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday November 25 condemned the alleged incidents of pro-Maharashtra slogans being painted on Karnataka buses and urged the Eknath Shinde government to take immediate action to stop this. Bommai added that such incidents will cause conflict between the states and that Maharashtra should take immediate action.

According to reports from Pune, a group of activists of a pro-Marathi group reportedly used black ink to paint state-owned buses against Bommai and “Jai Maharashtra” slogans.

Speaking to mediapersons, he said, “A union of states makes up our India. Each state has its own rights. According to the State Reorganisation Act, these states were formed. The law is very clear, and each government has a duty to uphold peace, law, and order and ensure that there is peace and tranquillity between the states.”
