A heartwarming story from Bengaluru has captured the internet’s attention and led to a fundraising effort for a local cobbler. Ramayya Uncle, as he is affectionately known, operates a small cobbler shop in Whitefield and is known for his compassion towards stray animals. He shares his tiny workspace with three stray dogs and a kitten, often providing them with food and care.

The story gained widespread recognition in December last year after being featured by the Instagram account “Leia the Golden Indie,” which highlighted Ramayya Uncle’s generosity. The post described how, despite his modest means, the cobbler provides warmth and care to the stray animals that share his shop.

Moved by his kindness, social media users rallied together to support him. The fundraiser organized through the Instagram account successfully raised a significant amount, which was delivered to Ramayya Uncle last week. The funds were accompanied by a card listing the names of all contributors.

In addition to helping Ramayya Uncle with personal expenses, half of the raised money will be used to sponsor food for strays in the area. Ramayya Uncle shared that he has been facing challenges since his wife’s passing four months ago and is raising his daughter on his own.

This act of kindness has not only provided financial support but also reinforced the sense of community and compassion among social media users.
