Following multiple complaints about e-commerce delivery agents flouting traffic norms, Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) launched a special enforcement drive on Saturday, slapping fines totaling ₹9.64 lakh.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) M N Anucheth stated that all visible traffic violations were penalized, with a special focus on delivery riders. Additionally, offenders were given a safety awareness session on following road rules.

Key Violations & Fines Collected:

  • Riding without a helmet: 582 cases – ₹2,91,000
  • Driving through no-entry zones: 389 cases – ₹1,97,000
  • Going against one-way traffic: 354 cases – ₹1,77,500
  • Jumping signals: 209 cases – ₹1,04,500
  • Blocking traffic: 148 cases – ₹1,05,500
  • Riding on footpaths: 79 cases – ₹39,500
  • Illegal parking: 98 cases – ₹49,000

With 1,859 cases booked, BTP has reinforced its stance on safer streets and stricter rule enforcement.
