Darshan, Pavitra, and others were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the brutal killing of Chitradurga resident Renukaswamy. They were initially granted six days of police custody, which was set to end on Sunday. However, anticipating the weekend, the police brought them before the court a day early. Eleven accused, including Darshan and Pavitra Gowda, were apprehended by the Kamakshipalya police in relation to the case on Tuesday.

Before their court appearance, 15 accused underwent a health checkup at the Annapoorneshwar Nagar police station, where they are currently detained and produced before the court at one go. Police advocates argued that additional time was necessary for further investigation and obtaining more details about the case. Initially requesting nine days, the court ultimately extended their custody by five days after hearing arguments from both sides, according to sources.
