Bengaluru: In the wake of the Covid vigil sounded, the people of the City are waking up to booster doses with the demand for it rising to result in a shortage of booster dosages.
A source at the BBMP stated that while the Covaxin stock is in surplus there is a shortage of Covishield. As per data from the BBMP, 90 per cent of the population has taken the Covishield vaccine and hence the shortage with demand being high.
It is now learnt that the BBMP has written to the Government requesting to immediately supply at least five lakh doses of Covishield booster shots.
