In a major enforcement drive against unauthorized school buses and vans, Bengaluru’s Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) have registered 231 cases against vehicle owners and drivers, seizing 65 vehicles for violating transport regulations.

The transport department stated that the crackdown targeted those failing to comply with Supreme Court safety guidelines, operating without valid fitness certificates, evading taxes, and committing other infractions.

A total of 10 inspection teams were deployed for the drive, during which over 500 vehicles were checked for violations. Authorities emphasized that such strict action is necessary to ensure safe and compliant transport for schoolchildren.
