Bengaluru: Sriramapura Police has arrested a woman for allegedly murdering her mother-in-law over property issues.

The deceased has been identified as Rani (76), a resident of Sriramapura. Accused Suguna (46) has been arrested.

Rani had divided all the property to her sons equally. After that Rani lived in a separate house. Meanwhile, her daughter-in-law Suguna, who is the wife of her second son, used to harass Rani to leave the house, further threatening that they would build a new house otherwise. On the night of Wednesday October 12, Rani refused to leave the house when so told by the daughter-in-law. Enraged by this, Suguna assaulted her mother-in-law and strangulated her to death. The incident came to light when neighbours heard loud screams and rushed to the spot and checked.

The neighbours immediately informed the police. Sriramapura Police rushed to the spot and arrested the accused Suguna.
