The Directorate of Urban Land Transport (DULT) and Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) are expanding cycle docks to 10 additional metro stations in Bengaluru to boost green commuting. Following a successful pilot with high occupancy rates, especially at Yelachenahalli and Konanakunte Cross stations, new docks will be added to stations including Kengeri Bus Terminal, KR Pura, and National College. These docks will feature monitored parking zones, protective roofs, and surface treatments, enhancing both security and comfort for cyclists.
The project is part of a larger effort to improve last-mile connectivity in the city. DULT is also studying infrastructure at 20 metro stations to further enhance access for cyclists and pedestrians, aiming to make Bengaluru’s commute more sustainable and accessible.
