Bengaluru Faces Rainy Friday with Gusty Winds and Weather Warnings
Bengaluru greeted residents on Friday morning with rain-soaked streets and overcast skies, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted continued rainfall throughout the day. The showers, accompanied by gusty winds of 40–50 km/h, are expected to provide some relief from the recent dry heat, although authorities have cautioned residents about potential waterlogging and traffic disruptions.
Rainfall is forecast to persist over Bengaluru Urban and Rural districts, continuing into the evening. Neighboring districts like Ramanagara, Kolar, and Chamarajanagar will also experience similar weather patterns, with possible gusty winds.
In South Interior Karnataka, areas such as Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Davangere, and Kodagu are likely to witness widespread light to moderate rain, with isolated heavy showers. Gusty winds of 40–50 km/h are expected to accompany thundershowers in these areas. Districts like Mysuru, Mandya, and Tumakuru will also see considerable rainfall today.
Meanwhile, the northern regions, including Belagavi, Dharwad, and Haveri, are likely to experience light to moderate rain, with the possibility of hailstorms in some places. Gusts may peak at 50–60 km/h in certain areas. Similar weather alerts have been issued for Koppal, Bagalkote, Vijayapura, Kalaburagi, Bidar, and Gadag.
