BENGALURU: The stalled Rs 307.94-crore Ejipura Flyover project in Bengaluru is set to resume with BSCPL Infrastructure Ltd taking charge of the construction. The 2.5-km flyover, connecting Sony World Junction to Kendriya Sadan, aims to alleviate traffic congestion in the Koramangala area.
According to Vishwanath Tarangi, Launching Engineer at BSCPL, preparations are underway with the arrival of key hydraulic machinery from Mumbai and metal bearings from Kolkata. The construction, involving around 300 workers, will commence on August 12th. The project faced delays due to abandonment by the previous contractor, SIMPLEX, which halted work when it was about 40% complete due to payment issues from the BBMP.
Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy has urged the BBMP to support and expedite the project. Engineers estimate that setting up new facilities and purchasing machinery has cost Rs 30 crore. The project is expected to be completed within 12 to 18 months if there is continuous support from BBMP officials.
