As the countdown to New Year 2025 approaches, Bengaluru’s residents are eagerly preparing for the festivities. However, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has announced several guidelines to ensure a smooth and safe celebration.
To maintain public order, BBMP, in coordination with the city’s police department, has outlined key restrictions for the event. All parties and celebrations must conclude by 1 am, while major flyovers will close after 10 pm. Traffic will be restricted on MG Road and Brigade Road post-8 pm. Over 800 CCTV cameras, including those along these bustling streets, have been set up to monitor the crowd. Additionally, female personnel will be deployed to enhance safety for women.
Bars and pubs will remain open until 1 am, but organizers must obtain mandatory permissions for events throughout the city. The BBMP has also imposed a ban on loudspeakers and the bursting of firecrackers, aiming to reduce noise pollution and ensure order.
This year, the BBMP will take on additional responsibilities, including managing lighting in key areas, providing health posts, ensuring efficient garbage disposal, and deploying marshals for crowd control. Enhanced security measures involve multiple departments, such as the fire brigade and narcotics teams, to safeguard the celebrations.
With these comprehensive measures, Bengaluru is all set to usher in the New Year with safety and joy. Residents are urged to adhere to these guidelines for a peaceful celebration.
