Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai instructed Deputy Commissioners of areas affected by torrential rains to give immediate compensation to those who have been affected by crop loss and house damage.
Bommai held a video conference with the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of the districts that have received heavy rains over the past three days.
He said that a survey must be conducted and repair work must be done when necessary, instructing officials to take precautions so that tanks do not breach or develop cracks.
To avoid any casualties, he urged the districts with huge waterbodies to be extra vigilant.
As a result of water logging on the Mysore-Bengaluru National Highway caused by heavy rains, the CM also ordered the DCs and SPs of the Ramanagara, Mandya, and Mysuru districts to permit vehicles on alternate routes.
Roads and bridges that have been affected by rain must be repaired immediately and the concerned officials must work in coordination. Whenever there has been a power outage, the power supply must be restored, and people staying at care centres must be provided with quality food, he said.
