June marks Pride Month, a time to honor the LGBTQIA+ community’s continuous fight for equality and dignity. Bengaluru is hosting a variety of inclusive events, welcoming queer individuals and allies alike.

Karnataka Swabhimana Habba 2025, organized by the Coalition of Sex Workers’, Sexual & Gender Minority Rights (CSGMR), is a month-long tribute to Karnataka’s queer culture. A key highlight is Preetiya Habba at Bangalore Creative Circus on June 14, featuring a queer-owned flea market, food stalls, live acts, a fashion show, and screen-printing workshops.

On June 22, join the Queer History Walk to explore landmarks tied to major LGBTQIA+ milestones in Bengaluru, such as the decriminalization of Section 377 and the NALSA judgment. Later, Okkuta Bojana on June 29 will foster community through storytelling and collective cooking.

The Bangalore Film Forum will screen Maurice (1987), a classic tale of same-gender love set in Edwardian England, on June 14 at 6 pm, at Untitled Arts Foundation, JP Nagar. Tickets are available via fillum.in.

Queering Law, happening on June 17 at 6:30 pm at Bangalore International Centre, Domlur, will host legal scholars and activists discussing inclusive legal frameworks inspired by queer and marginalised experiences. Entry is free.
