Bengaluru: Chamarajpet police on Sunday July 17 arrested the accused in the murder of Ayub Khan (48) a real estate businessman and the husband of an ex-corporator of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike.
The arrested has been identified as Mateen Khan, a car dealer. During the questioning, Khan confessed to the crime.
He was produced before the court, which remanded him to 10-day police custody.
Mateen was vying for the position of President of the Masjid (Khudadad Masjid) in Tippu Nagar, which had been held by Ayub for the past 15 years, stated Nazima Khanam, Ayub’s wife, in her complaint.
