Bengaluru: A young man, Manjunath (27), attempted to commit suicide by climbing to the 5th floor of an under-construction building behind Seshadripura College in Bengaluru. He shouted that he would jump and die, causing concern among onlookers.
Manjunath, a resident of Devanahalli, was reportedly distressed due to family issues, including his wife leaving him. He was heard shouting that he was fed up with his life and had been admitted to a mental hospital in the past.
The Seshadripur police and fire brigade personnel rushed to the scene and persuaded Manjunath to come down. His parents were also called to the scene, and they eventually convinced him to climb down safely.
Manjunath, who worked for a private company, had been suffering from depression due to his marital issues. He had been treated in various hospitals four or five times in the past.
