A 33-year-old man, identified as Mahadevaswamy M alias Ramachari, was arrested after allegedly trying to run over two police constables during a routine night check in Rajajinagar. The incident occurred on the night of March 3-4 on West of Chord Road, and was captured on CCTV footage.

According to police reports, Mahadevaswamy, who owns a waste paper shop and resides in KP Agrahara, was driving a Tata Altroz at high speed when he approached a checkpoint where officers were inspecting vehicles. Despite police signals to stop, he refused to slow down and allegedly attempted to run over constables Karthik UK and Dhareppa Tonne.

After speeding past, he stopped about 200 meters ahead, prompting police to pursue him on their patrol bike. When the officers caught up and asked him to step out, Mahadevaswamy reportedly turned his vehicle suddenly, hitting their bike and injuring them before fleeing.

Magadi Road police later tracked and arrested him. He faces charges under various sections, including attempt to murder, voluntarily causing hurt, and using criminal force against public servants. His vehicle has also been seized for investigation.
