A Bengaluru resident, Pratik, discovered a live worm in a salad he ordered from FreshMenu via Zomato, sharing a video of the incident on Instagram. The video, showing the worm crawling in the salad bowl, quickly went viral. Pratik also noted that he received only three of the four items he had ordered, saying, “After seeing this, I don’t want to open the other two.”

Pratik urged Zomato to investigate and warned others to be cautious about ordering food online. He advised checking meals thoroughly, especially when ordering from outside.

FreshMenu Responds

FreshMenu issued a formal apology, stating, “Finding a live worm in your salad is absolutely unacceptable.” The company reported taking strict disciplinary actions, providing additional training, and enhancing kitchen checks to prevent future incidents.
