In a tragic incident in Bengaluru, a 56-year-old man, Mahendra, allegedly murdered his 81-year-old mother, R Shanta Bai, following an argument over money to buy liquor. The incident occurred late Thursday night at their Bagalagunte residence. According to relatives, Mahendra frequently quarreled with his mother, primarily due to his addiction to alcohol.

The police report reveals that Mahendra struck his mother with an iron rod after a heated argument, leaving her with severe injuries. Shanta Bai screamed in pain, which alerted the neighbors, who rushed to the scene and found her lifeless. They immediately informed the police, leading to Mahendra’s arrest.

Family members disclosed that Mahendra had lost his job due to his drinking habits and had also been abandoned by his wife. Struggling financially, he often sought money to fund his alcohol addiction, which led to tensions at home.

In a similar case from Mumbai, a 31-year-old man, Narsingh Mungoda, allegedly killed his father after a drunken argument. Narsingh’s father, Raju Mungoda, had a history of abusing his wife while intoxicated. On the day of the incident, after returning home drunk and attacking his wife, Narsingh intervened, which escalated into a violent argument. In a fit of rage, Narsingh stabbed his father in the chest, resulting in his death.
