Bengaluru man opens doors to Kashmiri students as fear spreads
As anxiety mounts among Kashmiri students across the country after the Pahalgam terror strike, a Bengaluru resident has come forward with a heartfelt offer of refuge. Arjun, writing on social media platform X, extended a warm and public invitation:
“If any Kashmiri student feels unsafe in Bangalore, you’re welcome in my home. You’ll be safe and treated with care,” he posted.
He followed this with a stirring note:
“India cannot afford division. Only unity will lead us forward.”
Arjun’s compassionate gesture has resonated widely online, becoming a powerful counter-narrative to the growing reports of intimidation and fear faced by students from Jammu and Kashmir in different parts of India.
The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) has reportedly handled more than a thousand calls from distressed students in recent days. In response, they’ve set up emergency contact lines and formed a support team to liaise with police and local administrations.
One of the most concerning attacks took place at a college hostel in Derabassi, Punjab, where several Kashmiri students were beaten by men wielding sharp objects. At least one student was injured in the incident.
Tensions are also high in Dehradun, where a threatening video targeting Kashmiri Muslim students has gone viral.
Despite these threats, many students continue attending classes amid fear—forced by academic pressures.
In contrast, Arjun’s simple act of humanity shines like a beacon—reminding us that solidarity often starts with one open door.
