A shocking crime unfolded in Bengaluru as a 37-year-old real estate entrepreneur, Loknath Singh, was allegedly murdered by his spouse and mother-in-law. Authorities suspect the motive stemmed from his multiple romantic entanglements and unlawful business operations.
The grim discovery was made last Saturday, March 22, when residents stumbled upon a lifeless body inside an abandoned vehicle in a remote Chikkabanavara area. Acting on a distress call received at 5:30 PM, police arrived at the scene and launched an inquiry.
Initial findings suggest that the accused laced Singh’s meal with sedatives, rendering him semi-conscious. Later, they transported him to a deserted location, where they fatally slashed his throat before escaping.
Reports indicate that Singh had been romantically involved with the woman for two years before officially marrying her in Kunigal last December. His family opposed the union due to a significant age difference, and neither side was aware of the marriage until recently.
Tensions escalated when Singh’s wife and her relatives learned of his suspected affairs and dubious financial dealings. Frequent altercations led to talk of separation, but matters worsened when Singh allegedly issued threats to his in-laws. Fearing repercussions, his wife and her mother orchestrated the fatal attack.
Authorities have detained the two women and are probing deeper into the case. Investigations also revealed Singh was under scrutiny by the Central Crime Branch for fraudulent activities.
