Bengaluru: Jeroz Nishanth Coelho, a resident of Bengaluru had planned a weekend trip for his hearing impaired friends. Hence he posed a question on Twitter asking which company was cheaper-Ola or Uber. To his surprise, Ola cab company immediately replied to him offering free ride this festival season.
“Which one is cheaper @Olacabs or @Uber_India ?”, Jeroz had tagged both the companies and written on Twitter on August 23 seeking help from his followers since his 6 hearing impaired friends were planning a trip from Bengaluru to Mysuru following a long weekend.
To his surprise Ola replied, “How about a free ride? Consider this as our gift to them for the long weekend. Also, we’d be more than happy to bring them back too.” When Jeroz said that his six friends will be staying there for 3 days, Ola happily replied asking them to go ahead with the booking. Ola said, “So will we!! Please ask your friends to book an #OlaOutstation using the ‘Ride Later’ option and share their CRN & we’ll get it done.” Immediately Jeroz’s friends booked cab and Ola replied, “We’ve DMed you the details. We wish your friends an awesome trip, this weekend.”
Overwhelmed by Ola’s quick response, Coelho said, “Frankly, I wasn’t expecting a free ride from Ola. I was only asking my Twitter friends to understand which is the cheapest mode of cab travel for a group of my friends… We are touched by this kind gesture. I am glad to see that companies like Ola go an extra mile to help people in need. Even OYO Rooms saw our tweets and they provided free rooms for us in Mysuru.”
His friends also made a video to thank Ola for offering free ride and twitterati too lauded Ola for its amazing gesture.
