After multiple delays, the much-anticipated Yellow Line of Bengaluru Metro, connecting RV Road to Bommasandra via Electronics City, is nearing completion. This line is crucial for IT hubs housing companies like Infosys and Biocon.
Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya announced on January 2 that Titagarh Rail Systems will dispatch the first train on January 6. Subsequent deliveries are planned monthly, with the pace doubling by September. Surya also invited the Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs to visit the Kolkata manufacturing plant for the flag-off and inspection.
Delays in train availability have been a major setback for the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). Surya cited resolved issues like securing visas for engineers and dedicated manufacturing lines at Titagarh Rail Systems as pivotal in expediting progress.
The Yellow Line’s operational readiness is a significant step toward alleviating traffic congestion and enhancing connectivity for Bengaluru’s burgeoning IT corridors.
