Bengaluru: On one side Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao is trying to woo Former CM H. D. Kumaraswamy to form a third front comprising all secular forces to raise voices against BJP. On the other side, Former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda continues to keep his options open. On the night of Saturday September 17, Revenue Minister R. Ashoka held a closed-door meeting with Deve Gowda.
This meet was followed by a telephone call by CM Basavaraj Bommai to HDD.
According to sources, BJP is wooing HDD to transfer JD (S) votes to BJP in those Assembly constituencies where the party is not in a good shape in the upcoming State Assembly election.
“BJP is well aware that it can’t win without the tactical support of JD (S) in the State. Former CM HDK is not clear in his stand. So, the party is trying to woo HDD, said a BJP leader.
The meeting details are not revealed. However, according to sources, with HDD doesn’t want to see Siddaramaiah as CM again, BJP is optimistic that it can prevail over the JD (S) leadership in the coming days.
