Mandya: The officials of the PWD launched works to remove unscientific road humps on stretch of the Highway from Naguvinahalli in Srirangapa in Mandya Taluk on Saturday. Reportedly, all unscientific road humps between Mysuru and Bengaluru will be removed.
The works began under tight security provided by Mandya District Police following complaints from motorists over unscientific road humps on the very busy Highway. The demolition squad involving JCBs and earth moving machines cleared the humps on the road much to the relief of motorists.
It is learnt that the officials are replacing these unscientific humps with repulsive barricades to avoid inconvenience to the motorists.
The NHAI team, which conducted the survey, included Superintending Engineer Raghavan, Mandya SP Bhushan G. Borase and other officials. The survey was conducted to identify unwanted road humps between Nidaghatta and Naguvinahalli Gate in Srirangapatna.
According to the reports, the motorists passing through this highway frequently had complained that these unscientific and backbreaking humps had resulted in considerable delay in the travel time between the two cities besides causing damage to the vehicles.
