Bengaluru: In a focused crackdown on narcotics, the North Division police of Bengaluru City launched a special anti-drug operation on Saturday, targeting known offenders across 13 police station limits. The effort was spearheaded by senior officers under the direction of City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh.
During the drive, officers interrogated 180 individuals, gathering details about their activities and occupations. The operation led to the registration of three narcotics cases, and a total of 2.45 kg of ganja was confiscated in areas under Malleswaram, RT Nagar, and Mahalakshmi Layout police jurisdictions.

Further, four more individuals were booked for drug consumption. Police also traced five known offenders and nabbed two absconders with pending warrants. Altogether, 10 fresh cases were filed.
In addition to drug-related actions, police invoked the Karnataka Police Act against 18 violators and penalized 10 others under the COTPA (Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act). The remaining persons were issued strict warnings to abstain from illegal behavior.
The coordinated operation underscores the city police’s continued efforts to curb drug-related offenses and deter repeat offenders through targeted enforcement.
