Bengaluru [India]: The Bengaluru Traffic Police has issued an advisory regarding road closures on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) service road owing to ongoing BMRCL metro station construction.
The affected stretch runs from the 9th Main Road Junction to the 5th Main Road Junction and will remain closed for 45 days starting from October 6, traffic authorities said.
Diversion routes for motorists
Vehicles travelling from Ibblur towards Silk Board Junction are advised to follow alternative routes to avoid congestion. The suggested options include:
- Travelling via the 14th Main Road flyover and continuing along the main road to reach the 5th Main Road Junction.
- Using internal roads within HSR Layout to proceed towards Silk Board and Hosur Main Road.
The traffic police have requested public cooperation and adherence to diversion routes to ensure smooth traffic flow during the metro construction period.
Traffic management initiatives in Bengaluru
In parallel, commuters on some of Bengaluru’s busiest roads will benefit from improved traffic flow due to a new signal management system.
Anoop A. Shetty, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic West Division, shared a video on X highlighting synchronized traffic signals along the stretch from JC Road near Townhall Junction to NR Junction, PS Junction, and Police Corner Junction.
“This signal synchronization ensures seamless travel and green lights at every signal during non-peak hours,” Shetty said, calling it a step forward in easing congestion in the city.
The authorities emphasised that such measures, combined with citizen cooperation, are key to minimising traffic delays and improving commuter experience during ongoing infrastructure projects.
