Bengaluru: As many as 8,023 new HIV patients have been diagnosed in the State through counselling and ICTC centres in the last seven months.
Over 470 ICTC centres are functional in the State now.
In this period, a total of 18,65,141 persons were tested in these centres and among them, 0.41 per cent tested positive.
Over 8,37,709 pregnant were also tested in this period. Among them, 0.04 per cent tested positive.
According to the authorities, under the Antyodaya scheme, 35 kg of free rice and other health and nutritious support have been extended to persons living with HIV.
