Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has extended the opening hours of all parks within its limits by two and a half hours. This comes in response to public demand to keep parks in the City open for longer hours.
According BBMP Chief Tushar Girinath, the new circular states that the parks will now be open to the public every day from 5.00 am to 8.00 pm, with the exception of between 10.00 am and 1.00 pm for maintenance work.
Earlier, the parks were open from 5.00 am to 10.00 am and 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm. According to sources, food delivery men and other working people complained that they didn’t have enough time, and they demanded that parks stay open all day.
